One very important thing to note is that as per 2025 travellers to the UK will need a VISA. Even those on holiday. There is a UK Government App you can place on your phone which guides you through the application for the VISA.
Do NOT use other websites. Here's a link to the UK GOV Website. Below are links to the Apple Appstore and Google PlayStore.
If you arrive by airplane and cannot or dare not drive to the location there is a very good way to get there by public transport.
If you follow the next suggestions it will get you there.
1. Take a local tram from Edinburgh Airport to Edinburgh Gateway. This should not take more then 8 to 10 minutes ( 3rd stop ) .You can pay Contactless on the Tram, will be around 8 GBP single fare.
2. Once at Edinburgh Gateway, first follow the National Rail signs, then onwards to ScotRail. If in doubt ask locally.
3. Now get yourself a ticket on the train to "FALKIRK POLMONT STATION". You can download a ScotRail App on your phone and buy tickets that way. It's quite easy and affordable or you buy tickets at the station from the ticket-booth ( machine ) . Both options allow use of your bank or creditcard. Travel time around 35 to 45 minutes.
4. When on the train, get out at FALKIRK POLMONT STATION. Upon leaving the station you can get a taxi to take you to The Inchyra Hotel. Should be around 15 to 20 GBP for a single fare as it's about 10 to 15 minutes drive max.
If you feel brave, then you may also rent a car to get about while in Scotland. It's a very nice way to see Scotland and get around.
Keep in mind though that in Scotland they drive on the LEFT.
Also I would suggest to get an Automatic Shift Car as the steering wheel will be on the RIGHT of the car and your stick-shift will be in your left-hand if you prefer stick-shift. Those from EU or US may perhaps have some difficulty with this, so automatic is easiest.
Best rent your car from reputable services, which can be found in and around the airport.
